Chances are, if you’ve driven by The Texan in recent weeks, you have noticed visible changes in the construction progress of the landmark venue. One major milestone for this important project was the installation and completion of the north curtain (glass) wall and clerestory. This feature of the venue adds an exciting architectural and aesthetic component to the facility that the public is sure to enjoy. The wall features a retractable garage door that will be available to open on good weather days and windows that span the entire wall. Both the clerestory and the curtain wall will be a wonderful source of natural light for the venue.

Additionally, contractors are in the process of reconstructing the south wall using historic bricks from the original wall.
Construction is anticipated to be complete later this spring. Planning is currently underway for the Grand Opening, tentatively scheduled for late May, as well as the 2nd Annual Texan Summer Concert Series which will feature regional and national music acts. Members of the staff are finalizing pricing, procedures and policies for the venue and anticipate that the rental process for private events will begin very soon.
